About The Artist

I’ve been painting faces since 2005, but I’ve painted for as long as I can remember. My love of children and the lack of children’s entertainment in the area prompted me to go into business as a professional face and body painter.

I LOVE painting faces of all ages, painting pregnant bellies, backs, arms, etc. I work well with children, teens and adults.

I live in Grover Beach with my husband, and two children. I am willing to travel to anywhere in San Luis Obispo county or Santa Maria/Orcutt. (Travel fees may apply.)

More about me:
I studied Art at Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN) and Cuesta College. I have been painting, drawing, sculpting and crafting since I was very young. I grew up in the Los Angeles area (San Fernando Valley) and moved to San Luis Obispo in 1997.

My husband and I were married in 2003. We have a daughter and a son who are our pride and joy and continue to keep us very busy. In early 2014 my husband passed away. I found love again and married my current husband in late November 2017. I now have 3 step sons but they are much older than my kids.

When I’m not face or body painting, I spend a lot of time painting on canvas and other various surfaces (like driftwood, reclaimed wood, etc.) If you want to see my other art, feel free to check out that Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/artistsoohoo or my artist website: www.soohooart.com  (I paint under my maiden name SooHoo.)

During the COVID quarantine, I found a new, fun way to express my love of pets and of color! I have been painting custom pet portraits in watercolor. I love playing with vivid crazy colors but making it still look like the photo.

Custom Pet Portraits in colorful watercolor

This is a little video about how I went from acrylic painting on canvas to creating designs for print on items such as mugs, drinkware, phone covers, stickers, clothing, and bags.

In addition, I began to sell items printed with some of my designs. Some are watercolors of wild animals, and some are different breeds of dogs and a tabby cat. I am adding new designs all of the time. The best part is that after I have painted a custom pet portrait, I can print that on the items.
